The Trump administration’s attacks on education include attacks on workers' rights, civil rights and immigrant rights, all of which threaten the integrity of higher education and the broader community and nation. Crimson Courage stands with Harvard and its staff, students and faculty against attacks on higher education, especially those targeting immigrants, international students, and under-represented groups. Negotiations between Harvard and its unions must be undertaken in good faith, include respect for the importance of all workers to the functioning of the University, and provide transparency into the underlying financial conditions guiding the University's decisions.  Workers made this country and are an essential part of the functioning of the University.

We share with the current Harvard administration a fundamental belief in the need to protect these populations. It is imperative to stand up for the value of a diverse workforce and society. We affirm our support for the University in the face of actions by the Trump administration, and advocate that the burden of these attacks should not fall disproportionately on the University’s workers. Harvard's students, faculty, staff and workers at all levels, including union members, deserve fair treatment and protection.
